22 Weeks - Maternity Pants

It is amazing how much I have grown in the past week. My stomach is starting to actually stick out, not just look bloated.

I have finally accepted the fact that I have to wear maternity pants. I tried to wear my one last pair of pants as long as possible, denying that I was getting much bigger. However, they are no longer comfortable unless I leave them unbuttoned, which isn't a flattering look. My friends have been telling me to wear the maternity pants, but for some reason I just couldn't let go of my last pair of "real" pants.

Now that I started wearing maternity pants, I have realized that I may always want to wear them, even if I'm not pregnant. Seriously, the stretchy waist band should be part of all of our regular clothing. It feels like wearing pajamas all the time. I guess it might just feel like that because I've been trying to sqeeze into pants that don't fit for the past 2 weeks :)

22 Weeks - Lots of Moving

I have noticed a huge increase in the amount of movement from the baby. It used to just feel like a little fluttering. Now it feels like a goldfish swimming around in there (a big gold fish). It is amazing how strong he is getting already. Now that I can feel him, he seems so much more real than before.

21 Weeks - Rapid Growth

OK, I could've sworn that I wasn't pregnant until this week. It seems like my belly grew the most it has so far. I think that most people that don't know me would still not know that I'm pregnant. I just look fatter. It is annoying. It would be nice to look definitely pregnant so that I don't feel chubby. I think that I might need to just start wearing my maternity pants. When I try them on, I notice that I do look more pregnant.

20 Weeks - Ouch

The doctor says it is round ligament pain. Whatever the term is for it, this is uncomfortable. It seems like if I make any quick movements, there is pain in my lower abdominal. Hopefully this will go away soon. I guess I should just feel lucky that this is the first uncomfortable feeling that I've had associated with my pregnancy.

I really should start wearing maternity pants now. However, I seem to not be able to mentally allow myself to wear them. I'm not sure what the problem is. I guess that once I start wearing them, then there is no turning back, I will just start getting huge. Plus, I think it will be harder to gage how much I am growing. I can definitely tell that I'm growing when I wear my regular pants, because they are cutting off my circulation.

19 Weeks - It's a Boy!

We went in for our ultrasound today, and found out that we are having a little boy. We were very happy that he appears very healthy so far. I really wanted it to be a girl, but I somehow knew that it was a boy. I have felt it was a boy since the second I found out I was pregnant. Maybe it is mother's intuition? Or maybe I just had a lucky guess.

Strangely, even though I was hoping for a girl, I was very excited to find out it was a boy. I guess it is just nice to know what we are having after all of this time. Now we can start thinking about boy names and decorating his room!

The doctor did say that the baby looks a little big for his age. This is scary. He did also say that it is possible that I'm just a few days farther along than they initially thought. I think that this is the case, but I guess we'll see.
