7 Months

Mason turned 7 months old last week. He weighs about 17lbs now, finally. He went about a month without gaining any weight. He had just been sick a lot so he wan't eating much. We are glad he is finally back to gaining.

Mason has two bottom teeth now. You can kind of see them in the picture above.

Pink Eye

Well, Mason and I both have pink eye. He's had it for several days but we didn't realize what it was at first. Once I caught it, I was pretty sure I knew what it was. So, we are both staying home, as not to infect others. Both of our cases are pretty well cleared up, but not completely yet. It was nice staying home with him yesterday. Normally when he has to stay home, he is not fun to be with, but the pink eye doesn't seem to bother him. We've been playing and enjoying out time in quarintine.

No, I Insist!

I know I keep making posts about eating, but it is cracking me up. Today, Mason was insisting that he feed himself his oatmeal. If I held the spoon, he didn't want to eat it. He had to take the spoon from me and put it in his mouth without my help. Most of it went on his nose, but he did get about half of it in his mouth.

Making Messes

We are still working on eating solids. Mason will not take a bite unless he can help shovel it in his mouth. Of course this means that he gets it all over his face and hands, which is quite funny. He should be able to start feeding himself soon. He can already pick small pieces of food with his hands, but he can't get it in his mouth yet. He can't figure out how to open his hand and put it in his mouth. He just puts his hand in his mouth and the food stays in his hand.

Mason has decided that there are some foods that are good that aren't sweet potato. So, that is good. We had to slow down the introduction of new foods because we think that he had a reaction to bananas. So, we are back to just rice cereal and sweet potato (which we know he does ok with) for a while. Then, we will try banana again to see if it causes another reaction.
