Starting already

Mason was sick on Friday, and stayed home from school. Last night, as I was putting him to bed, I told him he needed to get some rest so he would be ready for school in the morning.

Mason: "What was that reason that I didn't have to go to school before."
Me: "You didn't go to school on Friday because you were sick."
Mason: {fake puking noises} "I'm sick again..."

He did go, and here is a picture from today.

Blueberries!

We went blueberry picking yesterday in Ermelo (about an hour away). Mason absolutely loved picking the blueberries. We probably picked a couple of pounds of blueberries, and I got a jar of blueberry jam, and it was all only 5 euro. Great deal for fruit, and for entertainment for Mason.

He was so serious about the picking that I couldn't even get him to look at me while I took his picture because he was so serious about picking the blueberries. This is him "looking" at me and saying cheese while not stopping picking.

I just pulled out muffins from the oven. Only 10 more pounds of blueberries to use up ;)

Enjoying School

We are very fortunate that Mason's teacher has been emailing pictures of the class home to the parents every night. It is nice we can see a little of what is going on, since he doesn't talk about it much.

Making a picture frame with the teacher's assistant...

Gym class, not sure why he is the only one standing up...

First Day of School

Mason starte pre-k today. I think I was way more nervous than he was. He just ran in his class and started playing. Efe and I had to get his attention so we could wave bye. He quickly waved and then went back to playing.

It was 93 degrees today. Without airconditioning, that is torture. So, Mason and I spent the afternoon at the airconditioned mall and playing in the fountain there.

Paris

Our first part of the trip was going to Disneyland. Mason had the best time there, and he even asked if we could spend the night in the park.

The lines were not as bad as I had anticipated, so we got to ride all of the ones we wanted to while we were there.

Mason absolutely loved meeting all the Disney characters. And the winner is...

Even Kaiser got to see the Eiffel tower...

In front of the Louvre...

In front of the Louvre...
Venus De Milo...
And, no judging me because I was definitely NOT the only person taking pictures inside the Louvre :)

Long Overdue Update

Wow, it has been a while. We are finally getting things back to normal here after spending some time back in the States. It was so nice to have some time with friends and family back home.

Unfortunately, I have no pictures from our visit. I lost my camera a little while ago, and I have been too lazy to carry my big one around. I'm still hoping my small camera will reappear someplace, but I do believe it is lost forever.

We made a trip to Sprookjeswonderland today. It is a small amusement park here in The Netherlands. It had a petting zoo, tons of Dutch characters everywhere (which we had no idea who they were, haha), a train for kids, rides, and a nice playground. We had a nice time, but we are all exhausted now.

I am vowing to get back to my regular blog posting now, so stay tuned...
