Mason got a new high chair from Grandma and Grandpa Aghimien for Christmas and he loves sitting in it. He just looks so small when he sits in it.
He is six months old now and we have started eating solid foods. We were excited to finally be able to start feeding him "real" food. It has been really hard to wait because most people don't wait that long to start. This is what is recommended for breastfed babies, since waiting has been shown to reduce the risk of diabetes, obesity and several other chronic illnesses. Since I have some health issues, I am glad that we waited. I'm hoping to give him the best start that I can so that he can hopefully avoid some of the issues that I have had.
His first food was sweet potato, which he really liked. He has tried peas and carrots since, and he wasn't really excited about either one. I've been making homemade baby food for him, which is much easier to do than I thought it would be.
Mason weighs 16lbs 6oz and is 25.5 inches long. I think he has lost some weight from being sick lately because he was barely eating for a while. He also has his first tooth coming in. It has broken through the gums, but isn't that noticeable yet.
He is babbling now, too. He mostly only does this when he is upset. He says "babadawama" and stuff like that. His favorite sound is still the "raspberry", but he has been doing that for a couple months now and it seems like he is now starting to replace it with other sounds.
