He's crawling

Mason figured out that it is a lot easier to get around if he keeps his knees tucked under him. We went to visit my parents this weekend and he had lots of practice crawling. He just started crawling on his knees last night. It was so cute because it was just like a light clicked on and he realized that this way was better. I think he liked it better because he could go back to sitting from crawling easily. It was funny because he was trying to use his knees, but wasn't very coordinated yet, so some of it looked like he was hopping like a frog.

All over the place

Mason is everywhere! Our days of sitting him someplace and then relaxing are over. He is getting very efficient at his "army crawling". He can go fairly fast that way. He still will only crawl for real a couple of "steps". I'm not sure if he will learn to crawl for real, or if he will decide that this is good enough. He loves being able to get around and explore the house.

10 Months - So Sleepy

Mason will be 10 months old tomorrow. They are preparing him to move up to the toddler room at day care in 2 months. I just can't believe he is going to be a year old soon.

They are changing Mason's nap schedule at day care right now to match the toddler schedule. He normally takes two naps during the day, and now they are only letting him take one. Well, the problem is that in the toddler room, all the kids take a nap at the same time, so it is quiet. So, most of the kids take 2 hour naps. BUT, in Mason's infant room, it is loud, so a lot of the time he only sleeps for 30 minutes during his one nap.

Well, I picked him up at 4:30 today and he fell asleep in the car. When we got home, I took him out of the car seat and he was sooooo sleepy. I laid him on the ottoman and he fell right back asleep. He is still sleeping and it is after 7! He is having such a hard time adjusting to this new schedule. I feel like I should wake him up, but I also feel like he needs the sleep, so I hate waking him. I guess I'll have to keep him up later tonight.

Happy Mother's Day

Mason learned a few new tricks for Mother's Day. He started saying mama a few days ago. He also started army crawling. He also crawled for real a few times, but he only took about four "steps" each time he tried. Here he is doing the army crawl...

Mason also loves dancing around. Here is one of his dances...

Me and my shadow

These pictures were taken on a beautiful day last weekend. We were out in the sunshine, and Mason noticed a black spot following his every move. He was quite intrigued with it.
