Baby Names

So, when we first found out we were having a girl, Efe and I immediately started discussing names. Every one I said he hated and everyone he said I hated. Then, Mason said, "You guys stop fighting about it and let's name her Fern Gully!". He said if we don't lilt Fern Gully we should name her China.

Now his new favorite is "Candle". It IS quite a nice name ;). I think I will call her Candle until we pick her real name because it makes me chuckle.

Anatomy Scan - 18.5 Weeks

We had our anatomy scan today and everything seems to be looking normal. The baby was going crazy and every time the technician tried to put the ultrasound wand on my stomach, baby would literally twist her body around so that she couldn't get a shot. I thought it was hilarious, but I think the tech was getting a little frustrated.

Here she is sucking her thumb...

And they confirmed for us that the baby is indeed a little girl...

I've Popped!

When I was pregnant with Mason, I didn't pop with a belly until around 22 weeks. But, here I am at 16 weeks and my belly has popped out already! I guess there is no more hiding it.

Soccer!

Mason had his first soccer game today. He is not super competitive, so a lot of the time he spent dazing off into day dreams. He did have a couple good plays though, and it was good to see him excited to get the ball.

Mason's Reactions

When we first told Mason we were having another baby, he was VERY excited. He talked a lot about it for days and he told me, "Mommy, I know how that baby got in your belly! It is because I prayed and I wished on every star in the whole sky every single night." He was so excited that he encouraged me to run and jump with him to see if we could get the baby to come out sooner ;)

He told everyone about the baby and seemed very excited for days. Then, the jealousy set it. He told me he is afraid I will love the new baby more than him. I reassured him that it will not be that way, but I'm not sure he believes it. Then, when we were going to our gender scan Mason said, "Why are you guys so worried about this baby and not me?!" Haha!

I guess it will take him some time to get used to the idea. I think he will be nervous until the baby actually comes and he knows what it will be like. The uncertainty makes it hard for him.

Expecting

I guess after all of this time, it is about time I announce that we are expecting a new member in our family. We went for a gender scan this past weekend and found out we will be welcoming a baby GIRL in February 2012. We are very excited!

Here is a picture in 3D, which I think came out looking very alien like and kind of hard to see.
