When I talked to my boss about leaving the company, I asked him if this could be my last week, instead of working until next Wednesday. I told him that I'm not going to have much to do, and I can get it all done this week.
He said no.
So, I will surf the web in between doing little pieces of work. Hopefully this will stretch out what I have to do a little bit.
You gotta love corporate IT.

Flights Booked!
Mason and I (ok, and Kaiser) will fly out the evening of November 12th. It feels like we've been waiting forever! We are taking a night flight so that (hopefully) Mason will sleep on the plane. I can't imagine flying 8 hours with him awake. We should arrive in Amsterdam the morning of the 13th.

Cute Things
I always tell Mason that he is my boy. He will normally respond by telling me I am his girl. Today he said "and my boy is in Amsterdam".
When I am going down the stairs, he says "Don't go about (without) me, pwease."
When I ask him what is wrong, he says "Nuh-sing!"

Change
I went to see Barack Obama speak today in downtown Indianapolis. There were about 35,000 people there with me. He gave an excellent speech, and I am excited about the chance for Indiana to vote Democrat this year. I really am tired of "politics as usual", and am ready for someone fresh and new to take office. If you haven't seen this breakdown of the tax structure proposals for both Obama and Mccain, take a look. One of the things Obama said today was that, with Mccain's plan, the average CEO of a fortune 500 company would get a $700,000 tax cut per year. His slogan really hits home, and I think of all that is changing for us. I put in my notice at work today, and also told Mason's day care that he would be leaving. Our last day will be November 5th.

If you could have anything in the whole world...
I have been busy in the evenings/weekends lately (either working or getting ready for the move), which has been hard on Mason with Efe not being here. Mason has been so good about it. While I"m working, he has been playing by himself and being a good boy. So, I took him to Meijer and I told him he could pick out any one thing he wants in the entire store.
He contemplated on several different toys that he found. He went up and down every isle in the toy department, and finally decided on...
Ping pong balls. Best 88 cents I've ever spent :)

Dentist Visit
We went to Chic-fil-a for dinner, and Mason got his face painted like a pirate.

Park with Max
Mason and I met Tina, Max and Baby Lila at the park today. It was Mason's reward for sleeping through the night for two nights. The boys had such a great time running around together. They are just so cute together. Mason told me that Max is his best friend today (he told me Marley was yesterday, but Max is today).
Our first week without Efe went OK. I missed him the most at the beginning of the week, but then it just kind of felt like he is out of town. I think it will hit me harder in a couple of weeks. This weekend is the first time it has felt weird. We always do things as a family on the weekend. Yesterday, I was wondering what we will do for the weekend without Efe here. We went to Panera this morning, and normally Efe takes Mason to Panera every Saturday. So, that felt a little weird.
Mason has been doing pretty well with Efe being gone. He asked for him several times, but I just kept explaining to him what the plan was and that Daddy was getting our apartment ready for us so that we can come.
