Cookout

Our friends Brittany and Keven came to visit us today, with their two daughters Avery and Mallorie. Mason had a great time playing with the girls. He really enjoyed himself, and was upset once he realized they were gone.
I was planning on setting up the pool in the yard and turning on the sprinkler for the kids to play. However, it was cold and rainy, so we didn't get to do that. The still seemed to have a great time though.

My Favorites

My two favorite things that Mason says...

1. When I tell him I love him, he says "I yav you too, Mommy."

2. When he hurts himself, he will point to the hurt spot and say "Tiss (kiss) it, Mommy". Also, sometimes he pretends to be hurt just so he can ask me to kiss it. He will say "Ooooowwww!" and hold his arm or his head, followed by "Tiss it, Mommy".

Happy Father's Day!

Wink

Mason has been winking for a little while, but I kept forgetting to try to catch it on film. This is his newest skill ;) And I added some more pics that I took while I was trying to get him to wink.

Bubbles

Mason's buddy, Max, had his 1 year birthday party today. Mason got some bubbles as a present and that was quite a treat. He spent almost the entire time trying to learn how to blow them. He was starting to get it figured out towards the end.

Sentences

Mason is beginning to talk in sentences on occasion now. Today, while he was watching Sesame Street, he said "Oh no! Where did Zoe go and Rocko?" It is so interesting to see his progression in speech. It seems like he is moving so quickly from just saying words to putting them together in phrases and in sentences.

Sorry

Mason has started saying he is sorry CONSTANTLY. Tonight, I swear he said it 50 times. When I put him to bed, he kept talking, so I told him to be quiet and he says "Tawee, mommy". He kept repeating it until I told him it was alright. Sometimes, I have no idea why he is even saying it. He will run into something and say "tawee". Or sometimes he isn't even doing anything that I can tell and he says it. It makes me feel almost bad that he is saying it so much, like he is afraid he is constantly doing something wrong.

Last night at dinner, when the waitress brought out our food, Mason said "Tank you". I was so proud of him. That is the first time he has ever said it to a stranger. Normally, I'm asking him to say it to the stranger and I just get a blank stare, as if he has no idea what I am talking about.

Summer Time

Mason has definitely been enjoying the summer weather. He absolutely loves to be outside and he is constantly begging us "Outtide??". He loves playing in the water, and Efe has been taking him to the pool in the new Monon center when it has been nice. He loves it.

He is growing up so much. A couple of days ago, he had a stuffed bear and he wanted to put a diaper on it. So, he said "Bear, diaper!", and wrapped the diaper around the bear. Then, he would take the diaper off and say "Don't pee pee, Bear!".

Mason can identify all of his letters and count to ten. He loves singing songs too. He will try to sing all the songs we sing to him. It is cute because he doesn't really know all the words, but he makes sounds that sound like the words, if that makes sense. He sings the "ABC" song pretty well, and also "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".
When we are in the car, we normally play a kiddie CD for him to listen to. He used to love it when I sang along with him. Now, every time I try to sing the song he yells, "NO!!!". I'm not allowed to sing them anymore. Only Mason is allowed to sing the songs apparently.
