Big Boy Adjustments

Now that Mason is 2, he has started in a new room at day care. It is a little tough on him right now. Monday was his first full day in there. Efe dropped him off at 7 in the morning and unfortunately I picked him up after 6pm. It was a very long day for him. He normally is not there that long. I felt so bad that he was there for so long in the new room.

I dropped him off this morning. On our car ride home, he was telling me "No Awon (Erin)! Awon bye-bye!". This meant that he did not want to go see Erin, his day care teacher from his old room. I told him that we were going to go to his new big boy room and he could play with Rodika, a girl that he knows in there. He got very upset and said "NOOOOOOOO WODKA (Rodika)!!!!!!!!!!!"

When we got there, I took him to his room. He had a hold of me and I could barely pry him off. Finally one of the teachers came over and pulled him off of me and told him it was ok and that he could come color. He got the saddest face and started crying and said "MOMMY!!!". I just told him that I had to go to work and I would see him in a little bit and I left. I listened outside the door and I didn't hear him crying anymore. I hope he adjusts fast to the new room :(

It's a Party!

We had Mason's 2nd birthday party today. He had such a great time. All of his grandparents came, and so did his Aunties Rachael and Maro. Here is my attempt at making Elmo cupcakes. They really only slightly resembled Elmo, but Mason knew who he was when I showed him so I figured that is all that mattered. When he saw them, he said "Eat it, Elmo!", meaning he wanted to eat Elmo.
Mason got so many toys that he doesn't know what to do with them all. He has been playing with them all day and didn't want to stop.

Happy Birthday, Mason!

Mason sang Happy Birthday to me this morning, and I realized it is HIS birthday. Happy Birthday, sweet boy! You are 2 years old today.

Happy Budda-Bethday Mommy (I insisted that it should be Mason, but this made him mad because apparently I didn't know the words),

Wedding Fun

We went to Amber's wedding yesterday. It was very fun. I went earlier during the day to help with things. Mason and Efe met me there later when it was time for the wedding.

The wedding was beautiful. It was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding. Mason had an absolute blast at the reception. He would not stop dancing all night. We ended up staying there until almost 11 and he was still dancing and didn't want to stop. I didn't bring my camera with me, which I regret because he looked so cute out on the dance floor. Other people took pics of him though, so I'll put them up when I get them.

Eeeww, Yutty!

Mason's new favorite saying is "EEEEEWWWWW, YUT-TEE (yucky)!!!!!!". He thinks everything is yucky right now. I think it is because he likes saying it though. This morning, he pointed at a freckle on my arm and said "Eeeeeeeew, yutty, mommy!". I'm going to develop a complex if this keeps going on :)
