Joker

This afternoon, Mason and I went to the water park. On the way home, while in the car, Mason decided to play a little prank on me.

Mason: "Mommy, what's that on you?"
Me: "What?"
Mason: "There's somthing on your back."
Me: "What is it?"
Mason: "I don't know. There's something on your back."

I start trying to reach around on my back to see if something is there.

Mason: "Mommy, come here and let me pet it, that thing on your back."

I totally freak out because I kept thinking there must be a spider or something on me. I start feeling around everywhere and swatting on my back. Then, I notice that Mason is giggling and thinks it is about the funniest thing he has ever seen. He totally got me on that one.

Birthday Party

We had a great birthday party this weekend. Mason loved the party, and being the guest of honor. He actually was able to blow out the candles. I think I helped him with one, but he got the other two.

He was so excited while opening his presents. His face light up every time he opened one, and the look was priceless.

And he is so happy to finally be "fwee" years old. He reminds us frequently how big he is now.

Dear Mason,

You turned 3 years old today. I cannot believe how big you are now. When I call you my baby, you tell me in a stern voice, "I am not a baby!"

You want to do everything yourself these days. If we try to help you, you say "No, I do it myself!"

You were so excited about your birthday party. You kept telling me that your cousins were coming, and you couldn't wait to meet them. You absolutely could not wait for everyone to sing Happy Birthday to you, and you told me about it all this past week.

Today, during the party, you were being such a ham. You were LOVING all the attention you were getting. You danced for while everyone clapped and cheered "Go Mason, Go Mason", and when they were done, you said "Let's do it again!"

You just started sleeping by yourself the past couple of weeks. It has gone so smoothly, and I am so proud of you for transitioning so well.

You are still a very laid back and easy-going kid, which I think you get mostly from me. You love to recite all of the rules to me, to prove that you know them. Rules are extremely important to you, and you are so proud of yourself when you prove that you understand them. This I think you get from your Daddy. Every single day, when I pick you up from day care and you are walking towards the parking lot, you say "We have to hold Mommy's hand when we walk in the parking lot.", and you love it when I tell you that you are right about the rule and praise you for following it.

I think you are finally potty trained (except for night time). Just about a month ago, you finally started telling us when you had to use the bathroom. Before that, we just had to take you once an hour, or we would be sorry.

A couple of weeks ago, you told me that Sarah starts with the letter "S". You are starting to understand sounds that letters make, and have since told me a few others.

I am so proud of the big boy that you are turning into, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Love,
Mommy

Holliday Park

We went down to Holliday Park today. I can't believe how awesome it is. I had gone there before, but not since Mason was born. It has an amazing playground, and Mason LOVED it there.

Here is a picture of the beautiful sculpture.

And here is Mason. He was super excited to get his picture taken in front of the sculpture.
But, he was much happier once he could play on the playground.

First Proposal

We had a great holiday weekend. We went to CarmelFest on Friday (July 4th), and Mason had a fun time. He played in a ball pit, and jumped in the Moon Walk.

While in the ball pit, a little girl asked Mason, "Will you marry me?". Mason didn't respond, and just kind of looked at her as if he were confused. The little girl then said, "Say YES!!!", so Mason responded with a yes.

He later saw his girlfriend, Marlee, there, and that made him forget about his summer fling in the ball pit.
